One person was killed and at least two wounded after an apartment building was destroyed in a Russian air attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, the governor of the Zaporizhzhia region in Ukraine said on Wednesday.
"Residents of the building were evacuated," Yuriy Malashko, governor of the Zaporizhzhia region, said on the Telegram messaging app. "Eight apartments buildings were damaged."
The city of Zaporizhzhia is the administrative centre of the broader Zaporizhzhia region in southeast Ukraine, which is now partially controlled by Russia. Earlier, a Moscow-installed official in the Russia-controlled parts of Zaporizhzhia, blamed the strikes in the city on Ukrainian forces.Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday rejected comments by U.S. President Joe Biden, saying in an interview in Beijing that Moscow's interests could not be suppressed, and that U.S. politicians should learn to respect others.
