PETALING JAYA: Following the closure of four major roads in Petaling Jaya due to the movement control order (MCO), the police are suggesting alternative routes that people could use.
The four roads that have been close are Jalan 5/46 Gasing Indah, Jalan Persiaran Mahogani Seksyen 9, Jalan Persiaran Jati Seksyen 8 and Jalan Persiaran Sungai Buloh.
According to Petaling Jaya OCPD Aast Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal, for Jalan Gasing Indah, the people could use alternative routes like the New Pantai Expressway and Jalan Pantai."We decided to closed the road, given the current rate of Covid-19 cases in Sri Petaling compared to Petaling Jaya. "Closing the road will enable us restrict the movement of people from Sri Petaling to Petaling Jaya to reduce the risk of infection," he said.
Meanwhile for other three roads, ACP Nik Ezanee said the alternative routes are Jalan Persiaran Kenanga-Kota Damansara toll, Jalan Persiaran Surian-Palm Spring Kota Damansara and Jalan Persiaran Tropicana-Casa Tropicana."Statistic on infections between the two areas is worrying, so closing the roads will enable us to manage traffic flow better," he said."We urge the people to abide by the MCO and be patient in facing this unprecedented challenge.
