A tractor-trailer truck struck the rear of a minivan that either was stopped or traveling slowly, state police say.
Boubacar Ceesay was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries, coroner Dominick Adamo said Thursday. He did not have his address, he said.
He was a passenger in a minivan driven by Munamadou Dukureh, 44, of Ohio, state police said. Dukureh was treated at Geisinger Medical Center near Danville and released. According to troopers, the minivan was either stopped or traveling at a slow speed eastbound about 12:35 a.m. when it was struck by a tractor-trailer truck driven by Jatinder Singh, 27, of California.
The impact caused the minivan to go off the highway and into the guide rail, they said. There was major damage to the minivan, they said. Singh was not injured but police said all the occupants in the minivan with the exception of the boy suffered minor injuries. Other than the driver they were not identified.
