Coronation Street 's Sean Wilson, who is renowned for his portrayal of Martin Platt since 1985, has delivered a brief but poignant message to fans following his startling decision not to return to the show. The actor was poised to make a much-anticipated return later in the year, aligning with Gail Platt's farewell plot after actress Helen Worth decided to leave her role of five decades.
Nevertheless, it became official last month that Wilson would not revisit the role of Martin as planned. A spokesperson from the soap advised The Mirror: "Sean Wilson has stepped down from filming for personal reasons." @KittyKat_TT expressed disappointment, tweeting: "Ugh still disappointed we will not be seeing you on screen. Nice to still see you around on here though.", reports the Manchester Evening News.
