The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 226 new COVID-19 cases as of Monday (3 August) noon, bringing Singapore’s total to 53,051.
The vast majority of whom are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
“Based on our investigations so far, there is one case in the community involving a prison inmate on short-term visit pass, who had arrived in Singapore before the implementation of border measures. He had been segregated from the general inmate population since his admission to Changi Prison Complex on 30 July, and was tested as part of the Singapore Prison Service’s proactive screening of newly admitted inmates,” the MOH said.
There are also nine imported cases, who had all been placed on Stay-Home Notice upon arrival in Singapore.Stay in the know on-the-go: Join Yahoo Singapore's Telegram channel at http://t.me/YahooSingaporeCOVID-19: Monitoring devices for those serving SHNs outside of dedicated facilities from 10 AugMan charged with cheating victims out of more than $98,000 in Haj tour scam
