PETALING JAYA: Two new localities in Lahad Datu, Sabah will be placed under an enhanced movement control order (MCO) starting Tuesday (Oct 13), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister said that the localities involved were Taman Khazanah Indah and PPR Mutiara Kasih, adding that 5,452 people will be affected.“All the residents will have to follow the Standard Operating Procedures set. Among them, they will not be allowed to go out of their houses,” Ismail said during a press conference to give updates on Covid-19 on Sunday .

Ismail said that food supplies will be distributed by the Sabah state government and coordinated by the National Disaster Management Agency . He said that all roads in and out of the localities will be closed, although residents can obtain police permission to travel out for medical emergencies and deaths.

Ismail also said that the conditional MCO will be placed on the district of Kota Belud from Oct 13-26 after a spike of cases there.
