White House says everyone who comes in contact with President Biden is tested beforehand and meetings are often socially distanced.
Days after the Gridiron dinner, usually a highlight of the Washington social calendar, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and Democratic Representatives Adam Schiff and Joaquin Castro tested positive. Biden, who was not at the event, tested negative for Covid on Monday, his most recent test, the White House said.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Tuesday that everyone who comes in contact with the president is tested beforehand and meetings are often socially distanced.The coronavirus has killed more than a million Americans since February 2020, according to worldometer tracker.
