McCarthy has always wanted practices outside over inside the Ford Center, but the“I mean [Wednesday] felt like a training camp heat wave type of practice,” McCarthy said. “That was one of the hotter practices that I’ve been a part of. Yeah, definitely, just going [Thursday morning] will be 20-25 degrees colder. Probably not the right term. I’m saying historically. Wichita Falls. Wasn’t there but felt like Wichita Falls.
McCarthy said the Cowboys didn’t shorten practice or alter any meetings. Players are normally at the facility early for breakfast, meetings and walkthrough practices. So moving the schedule wasn’t a major deal. Another factor in changing the practice schedules is the Cowboys are on schedule with their game planning.“Yeah, if we weren’t ahead, I would’ve probably had to move the practice inside or looked for different options,” he said. “This is clearly we’re ahead, we were able to flip some things. We flipped the work yesterday afternoon to prepare for the morning so we’re still getting the amount of work that we got to get in.
