Inspectors reportedly found Listeria on multiple surfaces.
It has red fur, a bushy tail and hasn’t lived in Pa. for more than 100 years. That may be about to change
Per the reports, Irvington Seafood recalled its 1 lb. packages of “Crabmeat: Jumbo, Lump, Finger and Claw meat” last year due to possible Listeria contamination. There are some really gross details in the reports such as “ceiling condensation” reportedly dripping onto cooked crabmeat. They also reportedly found maggots at the facility as well as roaches and beetles. There were also reportedly a chicken, two cats and a dog at the facility. So, if you traveled down south and ate any of the stuff … sorry. Glad you made it. And if you didn’t, good to know it appears you dodged a bullet on this one.
Per the reports, if Irvington ever wishes to “prepare or sell food again,” it has to notify the FDA and have its “facilities and procedures” inspected. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
