The Calgary Flames are going to get younger. That message came through loud and clear on Tuesday.
There were, to be fair, a few younger players who were given opportunities with the Flames last season, when Brad Treliving was GM and Darryl Sutter was head coach.
Fans on Twitter wondered why veterans could go weeks without contributing much offensively while younger players were benched after making one mistake. From the sounds of it, Conroy hopes his younger players know there are going to be more opportunities now that he’s in charge.
