Wesley Brunson demonstrated pressing down on his infant son’s chest “just like that” in an interview with police. A jury said that force killed the baby.

After around 11 hours of deliberating, a Cumberland County jury Tuesday convicted a father of killing his infant son in 2020.

Chandria Lynch told police she found her baby laying face down in his Boppy pillow when she returned home the night of March 19. Brunson had been asleep in the living room for around 40 minutes while Lynch had driven friends to buy drugs in Harrisburg. Brunson’s attorney, Spero Lappas, held out on his client’s innocence, however. Not only did he ask jurors to find Brunson not guilty of murder at the onset of the trial, he told them his client was innocent—that he did not kill his own son.. While Ross believed bruising to Holden’s liver came from an extended compression to the infant’s chest, Hoffman said the bruising came from CPR.

In the end, the jury decided that Brunson—who was fed up with Holden’s constant crying and annoyances to his older son—pressed down on the baby’s chest in the heat of passion.
