That’s what Wesley Brunson said in the months leading up to the death of his 5-month-old son Holden in 2020, according to his mother-in-law, Darlene Lynch. Darlene Lynch took the stand among a handful of other witnesses on the first day of the trial against Brunson on Wednesday in the Cumberland County Courthouse, where prosecutors wasted no time describing Holden’s death in detail during opening statements.
