JAKARTA: Former Indonesian two-star general Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death on Monday for murdering his bodyguardIn a televised trial, judge Wahyu Iman Santoso said that the former inspector general was guilty of being the mastermind behind the murder of Mr Hutabarat in July last year.
The case has gripped the country and affected the reputation of the police. It prompted President Joko Widodo to order the police, among others, to take measures to regain public trust.
