The judge, who sentenced Antonio Sanchez to seven life terms over the killing two University of the Philippines Los Baños students in 1993, said it was
“impossible” that Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo was not involved in the reported release of the former Calauan mayor from prison.
“Hindi siya makakapagsabi na wala siyang alam sa pagpapalaya kay Sanchez. That is impossible. Presidential legal counsel siya,” Harriet Demetriou told CNN Philippines. She was the judge of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court that tried and convicted Sanchez 24 years ago.
