America’s menu of late-night comedy shows offered nearly 100% liberal guests over the last four months, letting just one conservative slip in because he was shown in an embarrassing carnival game.
The Media Research Center’s latest report on late-night shows said that 93 guests were liberal to the one conservative, My Pillow’s Mike Lindell. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live from inside a stuffed animal “claw” machine.The study of guests covered Labor Day to Jan. 31 and was a follow on to another that found that no conservatives appeared on the shows leading up to last fall’s election.
The report, from MRC’s NewsBusters news site, reviewed the political, media, and celebrity guests on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden, and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
Of the politicians, all 27 were Democrats. Colbert led with 10. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and former first lady Michelle Obama appeared multiple times.Of celebrities and journalists, the count was 66-1, with Lindell being the exception. Colbert was tops again, featuring 21 partisans.
Lindell’s appearance on Kimmel wasn’t just rare for all of the late-night shows, but extremely rare for Kimmel, said the report. “It was Kimmel's first right-leaning political guest since Lindell's last appearance 644 days previously on April 28, 2021,” said MRC.
