The House Ways and Means Committee released its report on former President Donald Trump's tax returns Tuesday, finding he paid little to no taxes between 2015 and 2020.
The committee claims that the Internal Revenue Service failed to audit Trump effectively while he was in office. However, there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump administration and the IRS, nor are there any records of the former president pushing back against reviews of his tax information.
Rep. Richard Neal, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, center, and Rep. Kevin Brady, third from right, ranking member of the committee, during a business meeting in Washington, D.C., Dec. 20, 2022. Republican leaders have said Trump’s election victory showed voters didn’t care, and that there is no reason to pursue Trump’s financial information at this point.
