The Panthers are still looking for their first win of the preseason.
Both fanbases will be looking forward to seeing what their new backfield acquisitions can do once the season begins. Panthers fans may have to wait to see how former Eagles running back Miles Sanders performs as their lead back. He’s missed each of the Panthers’ first two preseason games with a groin injury and won’t play Friday either, though he’s said he’ll be ready for Week 1.
Meanwhile, both David Montgomery and rookie Jahmyr Gibbs are on the depth chart for tonight, but it seems unlikely either will play much. A Lions win would put them at 2-1 this postseason, while a Panthers win would be their first. Still it’s only the preseason, so plenty of the guys playing are still fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster.
