Donald Trump raised more than $4 million in 24 hours after he was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury. The indictment made history on Thursday; it's the first time a president has been charged in a criminal matter.
Trump's campaign said more than a quarter of the donations came from"first time donors" and people in all 50 states. His campaign argued that the donations solidified his position as the front-runner for the GOP nomination for president in 2024.
Shortly after the indictment was announced, Trump called for his supporters to donate money to his campaign in an email. He promised that the"witch hunt" led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg would backfire on President Joe Biden.
