Mere moments before touching down in the U.K ahead of a three-day state visit, President Donald Trump decided to continue his feud with London Mayor Sadiq Khan. The commander-in-chief called the Labour politician a"stone cold loser," following his recent criticism of the president.
Trump wrote:"@SadiqKhan, who by all accounts has done a terrible job as Mayor of London, has been foolishly 'nasty' to the visiting President of the United States, by far the most important ally of the United Kingdom. He is a stone cold loser who should focus on crime in London, not me." "Sadiq is representing the progressive values of London and our country, warning that Donald Trump is the most egregious example of a growing far-right threat around the globe, which is putting at risk the basic values that have defined our liberal democracies for more than 70 years."was heavily criticized for attacking KhanTrump appeared to misinterpret a statement made by Khan which he told Londoners not to be concerned about an increased police presence in the wake of the attack.
"And they are gaining ground and winning power and influence in places that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago."Khan also compared the president to a friend whose actions need to be called out.
