A Dothan man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly tried to meet a minor for sex, according to police.
Jim Lee Smith, 69, of Dothan is charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, and one count of transmitting obscene material to a child by computer. He is being held in the Houston County Jail with no bond.
On Wednesday, Sept. 20, the Dothan Police Department received reports of an adult male who was attempting to solicit a minor for sex in exchange money. According to Dothan Police, investigators determined the man, later identified as Smith, was talking to the minor via an electronic device. He was taken into custody without incident while en route to meet the minor.
