Dozens of apartments in a ritzy Upper East Side high-rise were without working stoves for nearly two months — after a resident’s bid to get their TV hung on the wall went haywire.
The worker didn’t identify himself to building management when he came to the do the job but went upstairs as a visitor — then allegedly drilled a hole in the building’s gas line while trying to hang the TV, according to a lawsuit. The misstep left an entire line of apartments in the 29-story building without working stoves for seven weeks, management company Roc-Le Triomphe Associates LLC said in its Manhattan Supreme Court legal filing against Task Rabbit.
