Draymond Green has suffered a sprained left ankle just days before the start of the Golden Gate Warriors training camp is set to begin.
“I feel sorry for the other teams that’s got to play against both of us,” Paul told reporters after his trade to the Warriors. “Because he’s always been very vocal, as I am. I’ve always thrived with guys like that,”Even with a maximum recovery time of six weeks, Green would still make it back for the Warriors’ second preseason game, when the Warriors will take on the Lakers.
They open the preseason Oct. 7 against the Lakers, while playing a second game against Los Angeles, two against the Kings and one against the Spurs to complete their slate of games. Green missed a portion of the 2021-22 campaign due to a back injury, but he appeared in 73 games, averaging 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.8 assists in his 2022-23 comeback.
This will be Green’s 12th NBA season, and he won four NBA titles with the Warriors in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022.
