Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said the dump truck driver caused the crash, but the owner of the truck allowed the vehicle on the road when 'it didn’t even meet basic requirements for legal operation.”
Authorities in Montgomery County have charged two out-of-state men in connection with a crash that killed a woman and her unborn baby.
Adams was pronounced dead at the scene, and her baby, Emersyn Grace Adams, was delivered stillborn, according to the Montgomery County DA’s office. On Friday, District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Lower Providence Township Police said they were looking for Clayton and the truck’s owner, 23-year-old Patrick Doran, for their roles in the crash.
Although Clayton admitted to drinking, he had a blood alcohol content level of .076, which is just under the legal limit to drive, the DA’s office said. While investigating the crash, authorities found that the truck itself had been illegally purchased and was never properly inspected, meaning it should never have been driven in the first place.
