Eamonn Holmes got detention for being late after IRA blew up his school bus

The TV presenter has told how his bus was blown up by an IRA petrol bomb when he was 14 in the 70s, at the height of the Troubles blighting Belfast

But Eamonn revealed his head teacher, far from being sympathetic over his date with terror, gave him detention instead.
