Incumbent Gov. Mike Dunleavy has about 53% of the vote, and independent Bill Walker and Democrat Les Gara are neck-and-neck, each with roughly 21%.

In downtown Anchorage Tuesday night, Dunleavy supporters, including Anchorage Mayor Dave Bronson and members of his staff, milled around an event space at the Marriott hotel. A cheer went up in the room when supporters saw Dunleavy’s initial lead, though the governor had not yet arrived. A Fox News stream with national results played on another screen.
In the August primary, Dunleavy led with 40% of the vote, followed by Gara and Walker, with about 23% each. Pierce trailed with less than 7%.
