EDF Energy is handing out £238 to customers from Monday
Energy firm EDF is handing out £238 to customers from Monday, April 1 - but it comes with a warning about your account.
The 12.3% average price cut will create an average saving of £238 per household, although you could save even more if you use a different amount to the average. The price cap drops the UK's average household electricity bill from £1,928 to £1,960 for gas and electricity combined. Along with the price cut, EDF has warned customers not to lower their Direct Debit payments amount to match the saving.
"Prepayment customers should see the change in their electricity prices when they top up after 1 April. Gas prices could update on prepayment customers' meters any time from today , but they won't activate until 1 April.
