In an official PBS video for Finding Your Roots, Edward Norton learns that he is officially a direct descendant of Pocahontas. The actor became an iconic fixture in the Hollywood firmament after his appearance in the 1996 thriller Primal Fear, a role that earned him his first of three Oscar nominations.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY On his official Twitter account, Henry Louis Gates Jr. shared a clip of himself with the Glass Onion star, discussing the Norton family lore that they are descended from the real Pocahontas. The video, from an upcoming episode of PBS' Finding Your Roots, reveals the confirmation that this rumor is indeed quite true.
Although the animated adaptation - which also gave iconic musical numbers like "Just Around the Riverbend" and "Colors of the Wind" - is the best-known film version of her story, Pocahontas has been brought to life by Hollywood many times over the years. One of the very first adaptations of her story was the 1910 silent film Pocahontas, which was followed by more than half a dozen other projects.
Edward Norton's Upcoming Roles Edward Norton has an equally robust Hollywood history at this point in time, with many more projects to come. Following his appearance in last month's Knives Out sequel Glass Onion, he has several other projects in the works. In addition to his role in the upcoming Apple TV+ anthology series Extrapolations, he will appear in the Wes Anderson film, Asteroid City.
