Wildcats gain revenge for losing to Highlanders a year ago and now move on to the CIF semifinals against No. 1 seed Mission Hills next Friday

Facing a one-point deficit with just under four minutes remaining in their San Diego CIF Division I quarterfinal with host Helix, the El Camino Wildcats turned to the passing combination of junior quarterback Carson Howard and senior receiver Tate Reid in order to help snatch a last-minute, 19-14 victory at Benton Hart Stadium on Friday night.

With the Wildcats down 7-3 at halftime, El Camino senior Elton Hurd turned a near-miscue into an 82-yard kickoff return to open the second half when one of his up-men nearly backed into him and got in the way of the ball, and the return man. The Highlanders were able to answer that score with a swift 10-play drive to regain the lead midway through the period when Jason CIsneros capped the 60-yard march with his second rushing touchdown of the game.
