La residente de Imperial Beach ha formado parte de consejos educativos
La Junta de Gobierno del Southwestern College ha nombrado como nueva fideicomisaria a Kris Galicia Brown, antigua presidenta de Border View Family YMCA.
En los últimos cuatro años, la residente de Imperial Beach se desempeñó como presidenta de la junta de Border View Family, ubicada justo al norte de San Ysidro. Recientemente también formó parte del Consejo Asesor de Padres del Distrito Escolar Sweetwater Union High y del Consejo Escolar de Hilltop High School, que desarrolla un plan para mejorar el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.
Delgado fue elegida en 2014. Pero el próximo noviembre, los votantes ya no tendrán fideicomisarios generales. Las áreas 2 y 3 estarán en juego y el asiento del Presidente de la Junta Roberto Alcantar. En 2022, los votantes aprobaron representantes para las Áreas 1, 4 y 5. Galicia Brown dijo que entendía muy bien el proceso legislativo y que estaba bien conectada con la comunidad, los distritos escolares y las organizaciones sin fines de lucro.
