The man, surnamed Wong, told volunteers he didn't shower and only washed his face at a public toilet, illustrating the lack of access to basic hygiene facilities. Furthermore, he possessed no shoes and couldn't remember the last time he had brushed his teeth. This situation, coupled with the fact that he has lived in the flat since 1979 paying a mere $35 a month in rent, paints a grim picture of extreme poverty and neglect.
