South Elgin will be hosting its “An Almost Winter Day” outdoor festival from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, in SEBA Park, 151 S. Water St. The free event will feature s’mores making, cookie decorating, craft projects, balloon animals and letters to Santa, all of which will get replies from the North Pole, according to a news release. There also will be a snowball slingshot, an ice sculptor, a bonfire and a tree decorating contest. Santa arrives at 2 p.m. and will stay until 4:45 p.m.
