On Tuesday around 6:18 p.m. the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) responded to the area of Lake Avenue and Emerson Court in Elyria Township for a report of a motorcyclist shot.
The first call was near North Leavitt and Cooper Foster Park Road, and the second was in the area of North Leavitt and SR-2, according to LCSO.
No one was shot in either of the two incidents, however LCSO said there is evidence that at least one of the motorcycles was struck. LCSO said they quickly discovered a suspect who was taken into custody for questioning around 6:55 p.m. at a home in Elyria. The motorcyclist at the Lake Avenue and Emerson Court incident was shot multiple times, according to LCSO, and succumbed to their injuries at University Hospitals Elyria.UH Elyria was briefly placed on lockdown during the time of the incidents, but the lockdown has since been lifted.
Charges are pending on the suspect, LCSO said, and more information should become available in the coming days.
