Published:The ex-boyfriend of a Montgomery police detective who was shot and killed three years ago during an apparent domestic dispute was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of capital murder, court records showed.

Pughsley, 27, was with the department since 2016 and was a criminal justice graduate of Alabama State University. Court records show Pughsley in late May 2020 filed for a protection from abuse order against Webster, which a judge granted in June. In that request, Pughsley documented and incident that happened May 19, 2020 at her home. “”Brandon came to my residence and hit me in the side of my head with an open hand two times while I was holding my 5-month-old Godchild,’’ she wrote. “His actions caused me to drop the infant.
