A former police officer has been acquitted of murder in the slaying of a Black man in their small Texas town.
Wolfe City, about 70 miles northeast of Dallas and near the Texas-Oklahoma border, has a population of about 1,500 people.
“My brother and I tried to pull them apart,” Malone said, adding that the argument went on “for a few seconds” before the two were pulled apart, and everyone seemed to calm down before Lucas arrived. “He’s dead. He was killed that night,” Lilley said of Price. “If it wasn’t necessary, it was murder. Go back and find him guilty.”
