Ex-Minneapolis police officer sentenced to 12 ½ years in shooting of unarmed woman who called 911 to report a possible rape
Associated PressMINNEAPOLIS—A Minneapolis police officer convicted of murder was sentenced to 12½ years in prison on Friday in the fatal shooting of an unarmed woman who approached his squad car minutes after calling 911 to report a possible rape.
Mohamed Noor was convicted in April of third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the July 2017 death of Justine Ruszczyk Damond, a 40-year-old dual citizen of the U.S. and Australia.
