PETALING JAYA: E-hailing company Grab is telling its customers to be prepared for longer waiting time for a car, as only 41% of its drivers have the public service vehicle (PSV) licence with the deadline looming.

Grab said it had been aiming to have at least 150,000 of its drivers undergo the PSV licence application process.

It acknowledged the difficulty of having drivers obtain the licence, as the application process was launched only in April this year, and the deadline ends on Oct 12. “Each day, our active drivers in full force serve one million ride bookings. On average, a passenger can get his or her ride within six minutes. Unfortunately, this may change after Oct 12.
