Un expremier italiano, en una entrevista publicada el sábado, dijo que un misil de la fuerza aérea francesa derribó accidentalmente un jet de pasajeros sobre el Mediterráneo en 1980, en un intento fallido de asesinar al entonces mandatario libio Moamar Gadafi.
El expremier Giuliano Amato pidió al presidente de Francia, Emmanuel Macron, que refute o ratifique su afirmación sobre la causa del siniestro del 27 de junio de 1980 en el que murieron las 81 personas a bordo de un vuelo interno italiano.
La causa de la caída del avión es uno de los misterios más perdurables de la Italia moderna. Según algunas versiones, explotó una bomba a bordo del avión de Itavia que volaba de Bolonia a Sicilia. Otras dicen que un examen de los restos, alzados del fondo del mar años después, indican que lo alcanzó un misil.
“La versión más verosímil es la de la responsabilidad de la fuerza aérea francesa, en complicidad con los estadounidenses y que participaron en una guerra en los cielos esa noche del 27 de junio”, dijo Amato en la entrevista. Luego de la caída del avión, funcionarios franceses, estadounidenses y de la OTAN negaron que hubiese actividad militar en los cielos esa noche.
