Exxon, the nation’s biggest oil company.said it will discontinue operations at Sakhalin-1, an oil production venture in Russia that Exxon operates on behalf of companies in Russia, India and Japan. “Exxon Mobil supports the people of Ukraine as they seek to defend their freedom and determine their own future as a nation,” the company said in a statement. “We deplore Russia’s military action that violates the territorial integrity of Ukraine and endangers its people.”
