The out-of-court settlement for the negligence lawsuit was reached through a full-day mediation between the parties last September. The court’s approval was required for the settlement because the plaintiff is a minor. “I also have to commend the insurer and Ion for ultimately doing what’s right and not repeating everything and dragging this into court, because it will just lengthen the entire process.”
