A criminal complaint said a shotgun recovered near the scene of a shooting in Arlington was traced back to a relative of the father.
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office said the cause of death for the 16-year-old boy killed in the shooting was shotgun wounds of the head and chest.
According to the complaint, homicide detectives spoke with Porter as part of their investigation, who told them that he had a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber handgun in the apartment. Soon after, authorities obtained a search warrant for his apartment and found rounds of ammunition in his bedroom and three firearms: the Smith & Wesson model 19 revolver, a Glock model 22 pistol and a Smith & Wesson M&P 15 rifle. They seized the guns and the ammunition, according to the complaint.
