FBI asks public to help identify suspect in North Park bank robbery [Breaking]
FBI officials on Wednesday asked the public to help identify a suspected robber who they say targeted a bank in North Park last week.
About 4:40 p.m. on Thursday, a man handed a note to a teller at a U.S. Bank on University Avenue, just west of Interstate 805, officials said. The note instructed the teller to place money in a bag. The teller complied, and the thief walked out with the cash. Officials did not say how much money he stole. The robber was described as a man with a light complexion and thin build, in his mid 40s to early 50s, and 5 feet 8 inches tall. The clean-shaven man was wearing a blue hat with some sort of logo, a gray zip-up jacket and glasses, according to officials and video surveillance video they released Wednesday.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to send anonymous tips to San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477 or via SDCrimeStoppers.org.
