RTE has teases that the format of the Late Late will be changed somewhat as Patrick takes over next month but insiders worry that the public aren't ready for the change
RTE bosses are said to be worried as the Late Late Show format will be receiving a revamp as Patrick Kielty takes over next month.Applicants are asked if they have any "funny/interesting/extraordinary stories" that they would "be happy to contribute on air".This means comedian Patrick could be seeking more involvement from the audience, much like Graham Norton does on his BBC chat show.
"No one knows what Patrick Kielty's new Late Late is going to be like yet, but we know he won't have the calibre of guests you see on Graham Norton. An RTE source has told the Sun that RTE bosses are on edge to see if the shake up will be well received by the public or not, with them saying: "Are Irish viewers ready for a Late Late Show like The Graham Norton Show or TFI Friday? Transforming the Late Late into some sort of entertainment show fronted by Patrick Kielty could backfire.
