Over 60 residents along Bedok Reservoir Road had their final gathering on the last day of Chinese New Year (CNY) amid numerous complaints. Wu Xiuhua, an eighteen-year resident, has been organizing these gatherings since 2011 under the Sharing Passion charity organization. However, the gatherings have received criticism from other residents in the area, who complain about the noise, hygiene, and excessive decorations. Wu explained that some residents are hard of hearing and need others to speak loudly to them, which might be perceived as being noisy by onlookers.
