The mansion is close to 130 years old. No injuries were reported.
-- Flames ripped through the Patrick C. Haley Mansion – a popular venue for weddings and other events – in Joliet late Wednesday afternoon.
There was plenty of smoke damage, broken windows, and a massive hole in the roof following the fire. All of that will need to be repaired before the space can reopen. Construction of the 8,600-square-foot Haley Mansion began in 1891, according to the venue's website. It was built for Patrick Columbus Haley, a renowned attorney who represented towns and businesses throughout the Chicago area.
The mansion later served as a funeral home before being turned into a private event space. The history has been preserved for years, and even the ornate windows are still intact. Originally form North Chicago, Zaruba and her husband, C.J., got married at the Haley Mansion in 2002.
