SINGAPORE — Eleven people self-evacuated from a Housing and Development Board block in Ang Mo Kio on Tuesday after some discarded items and air-conditioning compressors caught fire on the ground floor outside a unit there.
In response to TODAY’s queries on Wednesday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the fire at about 5.30pm.SCDF told TODAY that the fire involved some discarded items and air-conditioning compressors.“There were no reported injuries,” SCDF said. In a video posted on Facebook by Ms Camila Tan, thick plumes of smoke can be seen emitting from the raging fire taking place at the back of the two-storey block.A fire truck as well as a Red Rhino, a light fire attack vehicle, is seen responding to the incident as members of the public look on.
