Yishun residents can expect a modern take on colonial-era architecture when the Build-To-Order flats in Chencharu launch this month. The development will comprise 1,270 units of two-room Flexi to five-room flats. The HDB is taking design inspiration from a century-old bungalow that sits on a hill at the site.

The black and white bungalow will be a key feature that the community can use in a green space that will also boast playgrounds, fitness concepts and a therapeutic garden. There will also be a "bus-only corridor" in Chencharu. Claudia Lim reports.
