The two men went fishing together on Friday, but did not come home that night. Their bodies were found over the weekend.

The men were identified as Stanislaw Grezesik, 64, of Clifton, and Tadeusz Florczuk, 76, of Passaic.

An autopsy had scheduled for Monday to determine the cause of death, but the men are believed to have drowned in the frigid water, said Meghan Knab, a spokeswoman for the Morris County prosecutor’s office. The two men went fishing together on Friday, but did not come home that night. Family members reported them missing to Butler police just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, the prosecutor’s office said.

Family members joined with Kinnelon police to search the shore line on Saturday afternoon. They found personal items belonging to the men and observed two holes in the ice about 100 yards off the shore, the prosecutor’s office said. The body of Florczuk was found late Saturday. As darkness fell, the search was suspended and resumed on Sunday, when divers found Grzesik, authorities said.
