The trailer for A Good Person has arrived, revealing a look at Florence Pugh opposite the one and only Morgan Freeman. Written and directed by Zach Braff, who is best known for playing J.D. on Scrubs, A Good Person sees the Oscar-nominated actress transform into Allison who, years after being involved in a fatal car crash, forms an unlikely friendship with her would-be father-in-law, played by Freeman.
A day after the first look at Pugh in A Good Person was unveiled, MGM has released the first official trailer for the drama. The trailer begins by introducing Freeman's Daniel, a model train enthusiast, and Pugh's Allison, who is engaged to his son, Nathan, played by Dickinson's Chinaza Uche. However, when a car accident results in the death of Daniel's daughter and Allison's would-be sister-in-law, the two eventually find solace in the unlikeliest of places – each other.
Based on the A Good Person trailer, the drama appears to be a two-hander showcasing Pugh and Freeman as a wonderfully mismatched duo. While Freeman has been a prolific performer for years, Pugh is still a rising star in comparison. The film's marketing has claimed it will showcase Pugh "as you’ve never seen her before," while Braff has predicted it as a turning point in Pugh's already-prestigious career.
While Pugh and Freeman are headlining the story of loss and hope, there are some moments of comic relief between the two and the supporting cast. For instance, Daniel must navigate raising his teenage granddaughter, Ryan , whom he catches having sex, prompting a neighbor played by Only Murders in the Building's Jackie Hoffman to spray the boy with a garden hose as he flees the scene.
