The father was airlifted to a medical facility in critical condition.
A Florida man was critically wounded when his son opened fire on him after deputies say the man tried to run over his son and wife outside their home.
Arriving at the scene, deputies learned there had been a domestic incident between a husband and wife, with the wife reportedly being physically abused by the husband. That led to an altercation between the man and his adult son, who also lived at the residence. The son, however, had retrieved a firearm and opened fire at the moving vehicle, striking his father at least once. Deputies responding to the scene rendered aid before the man was airlifted to a trauma center in Jacksonville, about 30 miles east.
