San Antonio Food Festivals celebrate crawfish, paella, chocolate, roasted corn and more this spring
During Zoo-La-La!, San Antonio Zoo patrons can enjoy the zoo after hours and sample food from San Antonio restaurants.Some food festivals are so big you look forward to them like holidays: the Poteet Strawberry Festival in late April, Cornyval in Helotes a week later, Wurstfest in New Braunfels in November.
But if you just can’t wait to celebrate with fellow foodies, there are smaller festivals throughout the year devoted to a variety of cuisines, from chocolate to paella. Here’s a look at several on the horizon.: Chefs from San Antonio, Mexico and across the U.S. will compete to produce the best version of the classic Spanish rice dish. The event also will feature Spanish wines and live entertainment.
With more than 60 international dishes and close to 50 beers, wines and mixed cocktails to choose from, this monthlong outdoor dining experience promises to have something for every palate. Proceeds benefit the students of Por Vida Academy high school. Noon-11 p.m. March 26-27, 1135 Mission Road.
